ENCE Energia y Celulosa SA, formerly Grupo Empresarial ENCE SA (ENCE), is a Spain-based company engaged in the wood industry. The Company specializes in the production of the cellulose pulp and solid wood products, as well as in the production of biomass-fuelled renewable energy in Spain. The Company operates through three business divisions: Forestry, Pulp and Energy. The Forestry Division focuses mainly on the creation, conservation and exploitation of forest plantations. The Pulp Division comprises pulp production and sales. The Energy Division is engaged in the generation of renewable energy with forest biomass. ENCE operates three industrial complexes (production centers and power generation mills) in Spain, in Huelva, Navia and Pontevedra. The Company’s subsidiaries include Celulosa Energia SAU, Silvasur Agroforestal SAU and Ibersilva SAU, among others. On December 17, 2013, the Company completed the sale of all its forest assets in Portugal to an international fund.
